It’s Not Over.

Wilting leaves and withered blooms made this holiday amaryllis trash-bound. But by chance I glimpsed a break in the soil line: a new flower bud was forming, disguised by the decaying foliage yet promising a beautiful bloom.

And I think of you, defeated and tired, feeling the whole darn thing should be chucked: this relationship, that job, this attempt at finding meaning, that habit that won’t let go.

And yet.
